Check the actual selected adapter payload after its complete envelope is encoded.

Arguments

payload includes the CLI’s final newline or MCP’s selected-project/audit wrapper; limit is the validated encoded-output bound.

Returns

Success only when all encoded UTF-8 bytes fit.

Errors

Returns narrowing guidance rather than emitting an oversized compatibility array.
